Eric Larchevêque i front

Franskmanden Eric Larchevêque har lagt sig i front ved dette års Irish Open med 99.400 jetoner. Pokernyhederne fangede ham via telefon, hvor han fortalte om gårsdagens strabadser og hans første møde med EPT.

Eric Larchevêque har lagt sig i front ved Irish Open, og selvom han kun har spillet 1.5 år har han allerede været igang ved 3 EPT'er og i Las Vegas op til flere gange.

I played in 3 EPT, but without any results, and I went two times in Las Vegas where I got one Bellagio III bracelet and one victory in a side event. I played there around 20 tournaments (including 2 WPT) and I learnt a lot as I was fortunate enough to exchange blows with the best players

Så trods den korte pokerhistorie er rutinen allerede stor, og det har var til stor gavn, da han med stor tålmodighed ventede på det rigtige setup.

I was lucky enough to get a not too difficult table, with mainly tweak/tight players and only one maniac playing 80% of the pots.

I was playing very solid, and staying away from the maniac who was amassing chips. I was waiting for the good opportunity to get these chips, as he was on my immediate right. The ride to the chip lead started when I raised with

Første gange Eric Larchevêque stillede op i en EPT nåede han kun at spille 1 hånd. Men det slog ham ikke ud, og vi ser ham formentligt både i San Remo og Monaco de næste måneder.

Yes :), I was very inexperienced and we where 4 in a unraised pot on the third hand. I was in the BB with

and I was out. It was a big shock for me (my first big live tournament) but also a great lesson about pot control and value of the chips early in a tournament.

I'm very competitive by nature and I couldn't stay on such a failure. In fact, after being out I couldn't wait for the next tournament. Of course, it is easy to say that for me as I have some personal assets which allow me to afford these buy-ins
